Vision

To train career and lay missionaries who will be holistically equipped to minister to Muslims


Macro level Goals

  • Candidates to commit themselves to ministering to Muslim communities wherever they may be in the world
  • The establishment of long term works in these communities resulting in churches of local believers being an ongoing witness to the communities. However, being realistic in the level of response of the target people groups
  • Raising up coaches and member care personnel to care for the sent missionaries.

Micro level Goals

  • Candidates will understand the diversity within the Muslim communities and that there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach that can be taken
  • Candidates to be equipped to adapt to living in a Muslim context
  • Candidates will understand Islam and Muslims to an extent that they will have a starting point of connectivity to their target people groups in the field
  • Candidates will have an overview of appropriate evangelistic methods amongst Muslims
  • Candidates will have an understanding of how to disciple new believers from Muslim backgrounds within their contexts and the sensitivities that go therewith
  • Theological responses to Islamic objections to Christianity will be understood
  • Understanding the Biblical foundation of missions to Muslims
  • How to have a viable role in the community and how to minister holistically. How to meet the needs of the community on all levels – physically, emotionally and spiritually. (Integrated       ministry)

Course Structure

Duration of the course

  • 20 weeks (breaks will be taken for school and public holidays)
    • From 6 February 2025 to 31 July 2025
    • Every Thursday evening from 19h00 to 20h00 (extra time will be taken for longer topics)

Location of the course

Online on Microsoft Teams: The Teams link will be sent to those who have registered for the course


Practical

  • The practical outreach to Muslims will be for those who live in the vicinity of Pretoria
  • Every Saturday afternoon for the duration of the course
  • Meet at the Westpoint Baptist Church, 58 Taj Street, Laudium, Pretoria at 15h00
  • The outreach will go on until 17h00 at the latest
  • At times there will be extra input at 14h00 at the church prior to the outreach. That will be announced beforehand
